The BLOODHOUND jet and rocket powered car is set to be the world’s fastest car. Reaching speeds of 1,000mph may seem an impossibility. That’s why the project director behind the car looking to break the land speed record will fit perfectly into APM’s The Art of the Possible themed conference.
Richard Noble OBE is leading a team that includes some of the world’s most revered engineering talent, handpicked to ensure BLOODHOUND SSC is a global success. Richard’s hope is that the project, which will produce a car that can cover four and a half football pitches in 1 second, will inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and mathematicians. The BLOODHOUND project is already being used by almost 4,000 primary and secondary schools to do just that.
Richard specialises in developing high risk ventures. Obviously not all of them can be successful, but the Thrust2 programme that brought the World Land Speed Record back to Britain in 1983, along with the first ever supersonic land speed record programme are the best known.
Richard’s other projects include the ARV Super2 light aircraft, the Atlantic Sprinter Blue Riband contender and Farnborough Aircraft – the first distributed travel air taxi aircraft.
